Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.In the Senior Principal Satellite Ground Systems Planning/Scheduling Software Engineer role, you will perform planning and scheduling but also design, develop, and test Java code in a Linux, Agile, DevOps environment. We are at the forefront of aerospace and defense technology. Our Satellite Ground Systems Team plays a pivotal role in ensuring communication, surveillance, and defense capabilities through cutting-edge satellite systems. • Plan/schedule tasks and also design, develop, and maintain advanced software applications for our Satellite Ground Systems.
• Work in close collaboration with systems engineers, hardware designers, and other software engineers to deliver reliable and high-performance software solutions.
• Design, implement, and test Java-based applications and software components for satellite ground systems.
• Work in a systems Model Based Systems Engineering Architecture (MBSE) role
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications.
• Work with previously written code and make modifications as necessary.
• Ensure software performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and system integration activities.
• Contribute to the completion of program and project milestones under the specific guidance of their immediate supervisor.
• Follow established Software processes and procedures, development, documentation and maintenance/management of operations concepts, requirements (system, element, segment level), external and internal interfaces, and other software engineering work products/artifacts.What You Will Learn

    • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
    • Software development experience using Java.
    • Software architecture and algorithm development experience.
    • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.Qualifications We Prefer
      • Experience working the planning and scheduling of satellites using ground systems
      • Experience working external interface development and integration efforts, algorithm design, display designs, and working both front end and back-end software products.
      • Experience in systems engineering related to Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and architecture
      • Experience with secure coding standards
      • Experience with software automated test tools such as Eggplant or Cucumber (or equivalent)
      • Agile software development experience.
      • Experience using the Atlassian tool suite.
      • Software development technical leadership experience.
      • Superb interpersonal and presentation skills.
      • Knowledge of inter-software messaging busses and software frameworks.What We Offer

          • We Are RTX The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
