job opening for a Functional Support Specialist II - Software Tools
in our Space & Mission Systems sector. As a key member of the
Engineering Software Support team, the support specialist handles
the day-to-day end user support of engineering software
applications.The role is working within the Engineering, Science
and Analysis area providing software and tools support to
engineers. The majority of tools are commercial (COTS) or open
source and include Dassault Enovia, Netvibes, and Agile, among
others. General support activities include responding to service
requests, answering how-to questions, developing, and maintaining
procedures, training documentation, creating newsletters/bulletins,
distributing/redistributing/harvesting licenses, testing,
troubleshooting, and facilitating change control boards. This role
will closely collaborate with peers, the Resource Management
Service Team, the Information Technology Services team, internal
subject matter experts and other personnel.The Engineering, Science
and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the
technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the
successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for

strong execution.What You'll Do:
- Support users in a timely manner using a ticketing system.
- Facilitate change control boards, documentation, and user
communications.
- Support engineering software users in the classified and
unclassified networks.
- Update or create training content based on user feedback,
business process changes, and newly deployed functionality,
updates, or fixes.
- Software license management and license utilization
analysis.
- Prepare and assist with communication regarding upgrades and
changes.
- Create, modify, and update shared databases.
- Develop and cultivate a positive working relationship with the
engineers.
- Maintain data continuity across applications.
- Audit and review for data integrity.
- Troubleshoot performance, availability, and overall health of
engineering software.
- Utilize various applications such as Excel, Word, and
PowerPoint to create charts, reports, etc., required by internal
and external stakeholders.
- Crosstrain on other software tools managed within the team,
providing support when needed.
- Exhibit sound judgement, initiative, and self-motivation, and
be able to complete tasks with some supervision.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within
the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic
Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with
others in order to maintain a positive and productive work
environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary. On-Site Work Environment:
This position requires regular in-person engagement by working
on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the
primary work location. Travel and local commute between company
campuses and other possible non-company locations may be
required.Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory,
cleanroom, or production floor. Required Education, Experience, &
Skills
- BS/BA in a related field plus 2 or more years related
experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may
substitute for two years of experience. Related technical
experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be
from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an
agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department
of Education.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to quickly learn new software tools.
- Attention to detail, solid communication, teamwork, and
organizational skills will be needed to work effectively in this
role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.A security
clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible
for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and
eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after
an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable
clearance/access.Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Flexibility in approach to finding solutions, the ability to
understand and act on the customer needs and priorities and learn
new technologies quickly.
- General understanding and/or experience in software license
models and administration for engineering software.
- CompTIA Security + certification (or ability to obtain)Pay
InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $64130.000 - $109010.000Please
note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However,
individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors
including, but not limited to: business considerations, local
market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate
qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience. Employee
