IT Operations Systems Supervisor Job Details and Responsibilities:
• Coordinates and supervises the daily and weekly activities for the IT Systems Team to meet core business goals and objectives
• Participates in continuous improvement activities and ensures company polices and procedures are followed
• Manage the enterprise's IT systems, to include data storage systems, virtualization platforms, server hardware and operating systems and associated performance and availability monitoring systems
• Participate in departmental leadership activitites, this includes hiring, training, staff development, performance management and annual performance reviews for the Systems Team
• Work with the Supervisor, IT Systems Engineering and Manager, IT Infrastructure Systems to develop budget projections based on short- and long-term goals and objectives
• Ensures continued Sarbanes-Oxley compliance through regular reviews of evidence collection and data testing during scheduled procedures
• Propose changes to existing policies and procedures to ensure operating efficiency and regulatory compliance
• Manages vendors and contracts, ensuring company receives maximum benefit and value
• Gather, track and produce regular reports which focus on core key performance indicators (KPI) for the IT Systems Team
 
IT Operations Systems Supervisor Job Requirements:
• 8 - 10 years of experience in a combination of systems management, information technology, IT operations, engineering and IT jobs. At least four must be in a leadership role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate information systems concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Proven track record and experience in developing information technology policies and procedures.
• Knowledge and understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements, such as SOX.
• Project management skills: financial/budget management, scheduling and resource management.
• Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals and the aspiration to grow into a role of more responsibility.
• Bachleor Degree in Computer Science or a technology-related field, or equivalent work- or education-related experience.
• Professional system management certification, such as a VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MSCE), or other similar credentials, is required.
• Knowledge of common information technology management frameworks, such as ITIL, COBIT, and ISO.
• Experience with contract and vendor negotiations.
• High degree of initiative, dependability and ability to work with little supervision.
