- SALT Asset Management (SALT AM): State and local income tax
compliance and consulting for investment funds, fund of funds and
real estate, including both corporate and pass-through entities
within the investment fund and real estate space. This group is
most aligned with the federal financial services and real estate
teams due to the specific nature of the client work.RSM is seeking
an experienced, energetic, and self-motivated state and local tax
specialist to join our dynamic, collaborative and expanding SALT
team. RSM's collaborative and entrepreneurial culture provides a

advisor to middle market leaders.The ideal candidate will help
execute our strategy to deliver the RSM client experience, focus on
the middle market, empower passionate teams and build communities
of RSM promoters through the following responsibilities:
- Participate in one of RSM's key industry teams which include:
Financial Services and Construction/Real Estate
- Lead and manage the business relationship of complex
engagements with a focus on high-value quality tax advice and seek
to expand services to Investment Fund clients
- Serve as a Performance Advisor, mentor or coach to one or more
employees, which will include providing honest and timely
performance feedback
- Advise clients on nexus, unitary and business income,
multistate tax planning, audit defense, and due diligence.
- Manage complex state tax compliance and consulting projects for
corporate and pass-through entities.
- Deliver excellent service to internal and external clients
including effective communication, teamwork, positive attitude and
high professional standards.
- Continue to expand knowledge base in area of expertise, comply
with continuing education requirements.
- Drive growth and profitability to the Investment Fund practice
by generating new revenue on existing client portfolio, cross
selling and new clients for the tax practice
- Interact directly with clients handling questions, planning,
consulting, etc.
- Serving as Tax client service coordinator while developing and
executing the firm's client service plan
- Reviewing research findings and ensure conclusions are
consistent with firm policies and professional standards
- Build relationships across lines of business to ensure
excellent client service through an integrated service
approach
- Manage corporate client needs with respect to tax services and
state tax compliance
- Remain up to date on current tax practices and changes in tax
law
- Basic Qualifications:
- Requires a minimum of bachelor's degree in Accounting or
closely related field from an accredited college or university
- Requires one of the following: CPA, JD, or LLM in Taxation, or
Enrolled Agent
- Requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience providing
income/franchise tax consulting services in a Public Accounting,
Consulting, or Law firm
- Strong analytical, problem solving, detail oriented and
excellent interpersonal skills

salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this
role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions

certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful
candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated
range.Compensation Range: $97,200 - $183,700Individuals -selected
for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on
firm and individual performance.
