Duties
WHAT IS THE LBI - LARGE BUSINESS AND INTERNATIONAL DIVISION?

Vacancies will be filled in the following specialty areas:
Large Business and International, Director Withholding, Exchange
and International Individual Compliance (WEIIC), DFO EOS, Exchange
of Information (EOI).
The following are the duties of this position at the full working
level.
Performs reviews of assigned Exchange of Information (EOI) cases,
defining and obtaining requested information, prepares EOI requests
for information for the EOI manager's review and signature.
Performs any required research, follow-ups and/or reports to be
sent to the IRS office or foreign government official office.
Maintains inventory controls, historical case files, and
administrative reports.
Maintains liaison contacts with personnel of foreign government
offices to obtain needed information not available through public
information sources, or to identify key persons with whom the EOI
Manager should meet to obtain necessary information.
Reviews responses received from IRS offices and foreign governments
on assigned EOI cases, and prepares appropriate letters and closing
documents for the EOI manager's review and signature.
As directed by the EOI manager, prepares drafts of summons for
records needed from banks, other financial institutions, and
corporations in the U.S.
Provides advice, counsel, assistance, and guidance to taxpayers and
employees, the incumbent makes legal determinations applying
applicable provisions of the tax law in LMSB Programs.

Qualifications
Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been
gained in the public sector, private sector or One year of
experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-13:
You must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of
difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level
in the Federal service. YOUR RESUME MUST SUPPORT THE RESPONSES YOU
SELECT.
Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience that
is related to the work of this position and has provided you with
the competencies required for successful job performance.
Qualifying experience is experience that demonstrated
accomplishment of legal, tax accounting, or other project
assignments that required a wide range of knowledge of Federal tax
laws, regulations, precedent decisions, or other areas related to
the position to be filled. This knowledge is generally demonstrated
by assignments where the applicant analyzed a number of alternative
approaches in the process of advising management concerning major
aspects of Federal tax laws, regulations, and precedent decisions.
Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Conduct
legal research and analysis, and prepare briefs or similar
documents that interpret laws and regulations; Conduct work as an
accountant, a tax preparer, a financial manager, auditor, or
investigator that requires application of Federal tax accounting
principles and/or the Internal Revenue Code and related laws;
Manage an inventory of work with various deadlines and competing
priorities in addition to managing projects.
